UI design program — live webinar session showing interface components on screen

What the program covers

Six weeks, one clear thread: how experienced designers make decisions and why those decisions hold up under scrutiny.

01

Visual Foundations & Layout Systems

Weeks 1–2 focus on how grids, spacing, and type hierarchy work together. Sessions include annotated walkthroughs of real product interfaces, not contrived examples.

Grid anatomy: columns, gutters, and baseline alignment

Typography decisions: scale, weight, and rhythm in context

Colour roles: how to assign meaning without overusing accents

Live critique: participants share early drafts for structured feedback

02

Interaction & States

Weeks 3–4 cover how interfaces respond — hover, focus, loading, error, and empty states. Each session maps patterns to the specific cognitive load they reduce.

State diagrams as design artefacts

Feedback timing and motion principles

03

Critique & Delivery

Weeks 5–6 shift from making to communicating. You will learn to present design decisions clearly to stakeholders and incorporate feedback without losing intent.

Structured critique frameworks

Handoff documentation and annotation

12 sessions

How sessions are run

Live broadcasts twice a week, recorded for catch-up. Every session ends with a Q&A window and a short assignment due before the next broadcast.

Live broadcasts

Two 90-minute sessions per week via the Domain platform. Chat, polls, and screen sharing active throughout.

Recorded archive

All sessions remain available for 6 months after the program ends. Subtitles included.

Assignments

Short practical tasks submitted before each session. Instructors review selected submissions on air.

Peer group

Participants join a shared workspace for async discussion between sessions. No mandatory participation, fully optional.

Freya Lindqvist

Lead Instructor

Freya has worked as a product designer at mid-size software companies for eight years and currently consults on design systems. She runs all main sessions and manages the assignment review cycle.

Tomas Vereš

Guest Instructor

Tomas leads interaction design at a civic-tech organisation in Prague. He hosts the two sessions on states and feedback timing, drawing on work across accessibility-first products.
